Foundation Pouring in Missouri
Everything above the foundation depends on it being right. Footings carry the load down to bearing soil, and if they're undersized, out of level, or set above the frost line, the problems show up in the structure, not in the concrete.
Footings, stem walls, and slabs
We excavate and pour footings to the sizes on the plan, form and pour stem walls where the design calls for them, and place slab-on-grade with the vapor barrier and reinforcement the plan specifies. Layout gets checked before anything is poured, because that's the last cheap moment to catch a problem.
Frost depth, and why it differs by state
Footings have to bear below the local frost line so the ground can't heave them, and the number is set locally rather than nationally. Central Oklahoma generally runs shallower — commonly cited around 18 inches for Norman and Oklahoma City, over a code floor of 12 inches. Mid-Missouri jurisdictions generally land in the 24–36 inch range. Either way, the figure that governs your job is whatever your city or county building department enforces, and we confirm it before we dig rather than assuming.
Working with builders
Footings and slabs for GCs are a regular part of the schedule. That means showing up when the excavation is ready and being off the site when the framers need it.
