Demolition & Repair in Missouri

Old concrete either gets repaired or it gets removed. The difference is almost always what's happening under the slab, not what you can see on the surface — and you'll get a straight answer on which one you're looking at.

What repairs well

Surface spalling, scaling from de-icing salt, worn finishes, and isolated cracks in a slab that's still sitting flat and stable. Those are genuinely fixable and cost a fraction of replacement.

What doesn't

If sections have settled to different heights, the base under the slab has failed. Resurfacing a slab in that condition looks good briefly and then cracks along the same lines, because nothing underneath changed. In that case replacement is the honest recommendation and we'll give it even though it's the bigger job.

Break out, haul off, clean up

When it does come out, the old slab is broken out, loaded, and hauled away. The site is left cleared and graded rather than covered in rubble and ruts — which matters, because that surface is what the next base gets built on.

Demolition on its own

Tear-out doesn't have to be paired with a new pour. If you just need a slab, walk, or foundation gone, that's a job we'll take by itself.

What it costs

Resurfacing concrete in this market generally runs around $3–$10 per square foot, versus roughly $6–$11 per square foot for new concrete. Removing an old driveway typically adds $1.30–$2.00 per square foot. Ranges, not quotes — but useful for deciding whether repair is worth pursuing.

Common Questions

Answers before you call.

Can you fix a cracked driveway instead of replacing it?

Sometimes. If the slab is stable and the cracking is surface-level, repair makes sense. If sections are moving relative to each other, the base has failed and repair is a short-term patch. You'll get a straight assessment either way.

What causes concrete to flake and peel?

Usually surface scaling from freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salt, sometimes made worse by an over-wet finish on the original pour. The surface can often be repaired if the slab underneath is sound.

Is haul-off included?

Yes — removal and disposal are part of the job, not a separate surprise line.
